We continue a series of publications dedicated to the selection of the best dresses from different collections of a certain Fashion House. Today we will look at dresses from Chlo ?. At the same time, let's recall a little the history of the brand and the names of the designers who worked for the benefit of Chlo ?.
Fashion House Chlo? was founded in Paris by Egyptian-born designer Gaby Aghion and her business partner Jacques Lenuar in 1952. The concept was based on the search for a way to present quality pret-a-porter to a market where exquisite craftsmanship was the domain of only couture houses. The most talented designers of that time were invited to work on the first collections.
Later the time of Karl Lagerfeld came. His work began in 1966 and was interrupted by his departure to Chanel. Martine Sitbon came in for a few years, making things a little more cute, for example, with polka dot fabrics, until Karl Lagerfeld returned for another five years in 1992.
Stella MacCartney succeeded Karl Lagerfeld until she left to work on her own brand. She was replaced by Phoebe Philo, a former assistant to Stella McCartney who soon became a favorite of critics.
Then Phoebe Philo left Chlo? To spend more time with her family, and was replaced by Yvan Mispelaere for a short time and for an even shorter period? Paulo Melim Andersson, the creations of the latter three years later replaced the collection of almost nobody then unknown Hannah MacGibbon.
And in 2024 at the Chlo House? Claire Waite Keller came. Her style, like that of McGibbon, can be described as "English classics". Before joining House Chlo? Waite Keller has been the Creative Director of the Scottish brand Pringle for 6 years. Prior to that, she worked at Gucci under Tom Ford.
Despite the change of designers, and the inconsistency of Chloe's images, the brand has managed to maintain its niche in the fashion world.
