New collection of Balmain fall-winter 2024-2025
Olivier Rousteing is a French fashion designer with a distinctive African accent.
According to fashion critics - "... in this collection, the designer expressed his love for the heritage of French fashion codes, at the same time subordinating them to his will ...".
Women's fashion 2024-2025 from Balmain
The show was opened by models in strict blue coats, cut very simply and concisely with an emphasis on broad shoulders. The only decoration on these coats were shiny buttons.
Then followed
models in safari style, which clearly reflected the spirit of Africa, penetrated by the sun of the desert. Many designers use this style in their summer collections. However, take a look at the looks that Olivier Rousteing offers for the fall-winter season.
2024-2025.
In this seemingly multi-layered negligence, it will be convenient and comfortable even in cold weather. The clothes are distinguished by their practicality, jackets-jackets with large pockets and capes are made of warm materials. All the elements in the set are successfully combined with each other, and not only in color, but also in direction.
The safari style is most often associated with khaki, followed by those details that clearly distinguish it from all others - large pockets with buttons with flaps, leather trim, wide multifunctional belts, high boots and many other details that characterize this style, comfortable in the open Africa.
And further on the catwalk appeared girls-models, the images of which seemed to many to be completely mysterious. In addition to amazing bright prints depicting horses and their equipment, the designer used decorative elements embroidered with rhinestones and beads. Even on bright mohair sweaters, these elements (chains, harnesses, decorative brushes ...) looked so expressive that they seemed real.
What does horse equipment have to do with it? - you say. We think that they have a definite and significant place in this collection. After all, how should one prepare for a trip to the African desert? A camel is not always needed, especially for European girls. Therefore, the designer prepared the female models for a horse ride.
Experienced riders always choose comfortable clothes, by the way, boots will be indispensable here, and gloves will help to hold the reins tightly and confidently. Everything that is needed to equip a horse and rider can be seen in prints, decor and accessories.
Look carefully - the girls have bags in their hands and on their trousers - big pockets - briefcases. Do you know what they look like? It is precisely those saddle bags, or sacks, that are needed for the rider's spare clothes, fastened behind the saddle. After all, the rider's horse is not only a means of transportation, but also serves as a faithful companion, helping him out in times of danger.
To feel like a professional rider, you also need a riding vest and breeches.
The clothes were chosen so carefully that the designer took into account the most seemingly insignificant nuances - even the length of the upper items of the sets was taken into account (for riders it should be short so that it does not cling to the saddle).
There is another mystery in the collection and it is in print and decor. Look closely again. Do you see a centaur with a bow, and around the constellations and twinkling stars? So - this is Sagittarius, one of the 12 signs of the zodiac - the element of fire. And people born under this sign have a pronounced leadership ability, they are energetic and passionate about the idea of changing the whole world, therefore they strive for popularity, and almost always achieve success. This is how Olivier Rousteing sees his girls. But even Scorpio can be used as a decoration for such girls.
How many riddles there are in this unusual collection! We tried to unravel the designer's intentions and came up with our own version.
The designer used a huge variety of materials, and many of them were harmoniously combined. Sets of leather, PVC, latex, denim, velvet appeared on the podium, the shades of which perfectly fit into the sandy-brown range.
Yes, leather has become one of the main materials. These are stylish trouser suits, over the knee boots, assembled boots, bags, quilted suit trimmings and, of course, a variety of accessories. The glossy sheen of the latex suits looked like a second skin ...
Silk dresses with magnificent and intricate drapery deserve special attention and admiration. Despite the designer's idea of showing a strong and confident woman, Olivier Rousteing still leaves her inherent femininity and romance. And this gentle look in the collection is embodied through soft, silky, light fabrics.
The collection was dominated by sandy and earthy shades, the magic of the desert and the trademark Balmain shine reigned.
Outfits for the most romantic and enthusiastic girls have found a place in the collection.
Olivier Rousteing, creative director of the House of Balmain, presented this collection in a harmonious combination of the classic styles of East and West with his original and daring approach.
